BMW Motorrad introduced a one-off custom motorcycle Titan based on the BMW R 1300 R. It was developed by a small team of employees working in design, engineering and prototype development. It was led by Philipp Ludwig, with contributions from Andreas Martin (design), Theresa Stukenbrock (graphics and colour) and prototype specialists Paul Summerer and Thomas Becker.

BMW R 1300 R Titan: Design

The custom motorcycle’s design takes elements from the standard R 1300 R and adapts them into a sprint-race inspired structure. The fuel tank and fairing styling have been translated into a monocoque form, with lines emphasizing forward mass distribution. Carbon fibre components and metallic blue accents are used to define the visual structure. The air duct panel from the standard model is retained with exaggerated treatment.

BMW R 1300 R Titan: Engine

The R 1300 R Titan continues to be powered by 1300cc boxer engine as seen on R 1300 R. A specially made Wilbers chassis with an extended swingarm has been integrated. The suspension is adjusted for rigid track-focused performance. The overall dimensions are compact, built around the central engine mass.

BMW R 1300 R Titan: Exhaust

Exhaust development was supported by Akrapovic, a long-time BMW Motorrad partner. The custom titanium exhaust system merges the two-cylinder outlets under the bike and exits via a dual-flow setup beneath the high-mounted tail section.

Nitrous Oxide Injection System Added

The motorcycle includes a nitrous oxide system designed to deliver additional power during sprint starts. The setup is manually activated via a button and injects nitrous directly into the intake system. A bottle is mounted visibly between the two rear silencers.

Functional Layout and Control Hardware

The drivetrain is supported by a shaft drive system and power delivery is managed through the transmission system. Braking is handled by a Magura HC3 lever. The footrests have been repositioned towards the rear to support sprint riding posture.

Internal Development, No Production Plans

The Titan is a concept developed for internal experimentation and sprint event participation. It is not scheduled for production and serves as an example of in-house design and engineering flexibility within BMW Motorrad.
