AISIN To Supply Hybrid Unit For Mitsubishi Xforce HEV In Thailand
AISIN Corporation has confirmed that a hybrid unit it developed will be installed in the Mitsubishi Xforce HEV. The announcement was followed by the unveiling of the vehicle in Thailand by Mitsubishi.
The Xforce HEV is the hybrid version of Mitsubishi’s compact SUV, the Xforce. The hybrid system is AISIN’s first series-parallel type, jointly developed with Mitsubishi Motors. It includes a drive motor and gearbox, and will be sold directly to Mitsubishi.
Switching Mechanism for Improved Efficiency
The hybrid system features a dog clutch separation mechanism that applies manual transmission technology. This allows the vehicle to switch between motor drive and engine drive depending on driving conditions. According to AISIN, this setup supports both fuel efficiency and installation flexibility.
