Audi Q3 Luxury SUV Crosses 1 Million Production Milestone At Hungary Plant

Audi commenced with the production of the Q3 luxury SUV in 2011 and globally the company has managed to sell over 2 million units of this SUV. Back in the day the Q3 was introduced as the entry level luxury SUV from the automaker following which the company introduced its new entry level model the Q2 in 2016 slottled below the Q3 in the company’s international lineup.

Audi has credited its Hungarian plant for supporting the global production of the Q3, this facility has contributed about fifty percent of the entire Q3 production till date. Sharing this update the company stated that it commenced production at Audi Hungary back in 1993 and till date this facility has facilitated the production of over 45 million engines and 2 million vehicles. The production of the current generation Audi Q3 and the Q3 Sportback commenced at this facility in 2018.

The information shared by the company also revealed that last year the Audi Hungary facility produced about 99,288 units of this SUV. Last year 63,579 units of the Q3 Sportback were produced from this facility.

Audi currently offers this SUV in two broad versions in India - the Q3 and the Q3 Sportback. The Q3 is offered in an ex-showroom price range of Rs 45.24 to Rs 55.64 lakh and the Q3 Sportback is offered in an ex-showroom price range of Rs 56.24 to Rs 56.94 lakh.

Gerd Walker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Audi Hungaria and Member of the Board of Management for Production and Logistics at AUDI AG said, “One million vehicles produced in Gyor impressively demonstrates how popular the Audi Q3 is with our customers worldwide. The Gyor plant has played a significant part in the success of the model and has stood for consistent production quality for more than 25 years”.
