Land Rover Expands Discovery Range With New Editions And Features: Check Details

Land Rover Discovery SUV range has been expanded by the introduction of two new variants, Tempest and Gemini. The updates are part of the brand’s ongoing strategy to offer more flexibility and functionality in its seven-seat vehicle line-up. The updated Discovery range, including the Tempest and Gemini editions, is now available in the UK, with pricing starting from £64,810 (on-the-road).

The Tempest and Gemini editions pay reference to earlier phases in Discovery’s history. The Tempest name comes from the internal codename used for the development of the second-generation Discovery in 1998, while Gemini refers to the diesel engine that powered the original 1989 model.

The Tempest edition is positioned as the highest-spec variant in the current Discovery line-up. It includes a matte protective film on the bodywork, offered in Charente Grey, Varesine Blue or Carpathian Grey. A Petra Copper gloss roof comes as standard, while Narvik Gloss Black is optional. Additional Petra Copper detailing is applied to several exterior components.

This version also includes exclusive 22-inch alloy wheels and unique badges on the B-pillars, treadplates and interior trim. The interior comes with extended Ebony Windsor leather and additional aluminium elements.

The Gemini edition includes six colour options, one of which—Sedona Red—is new and exclusive to this variant. The roof is finished in Narvik Gloss Black. Gloss Black elements are also added to other parts of the exterior, along with Atlas Gloss trim for the grille and lettering.

On the inside, the model includes features like a cooler compartment between the front seats, Click & Go media holders for rear passengers and three-zone climate control. It rides on 21-inch split-spoke alloy wheels.

Both editions are powered by the D350 Ingenium diesel engine, which produces 345 bhp and 700Nm of torque. The engine is supported by 48V mild-hybrid technology. An eight-speed all-wheel-drive transmission is standard. Both variants maintain Discovery’s 3,500kg towing capacity.

In addition to the new editions, Land Rover has made updates to the rest of the Discovery line-up. New wheel designs have been introduced, and trim levels such as S, Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE and Metropolitan Edition now feature additional equipment. For example, the Dynamic HSE now includes three-zone climate control as standard.

Land Rover has introduced three new curated accessory packs: Beach Days, Road Trip, and Snow Days. Each pack is aimed at a different use-case, offering items such as roof racks, organisers, sunshades, or snow traction systems. These are added alongside existing accessory packs like For Dogs and Biking Adventures.

The Discovery continues to offer advanced features like Terrain Response 2, All Terrain Progress Control and Advanced Tow Assist. The SUV maintains a maximum wading depth of 900mm.
