In July 2025, Maruti Suzuki's Dzire surpassed Hyundai's Creta to become India's best-selling car, marking a significant shift in the market dynamics. Dzire's sales surged by 79.4% to 20,895 units, while Creta's sales dipped by 2.6% to 16,898 units. This change ended Creta's six-month reign as the top seller. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki claimed four of the top five best-selling cars, with models like Ertiga, Wagon R, and Swift also performing well. Creta remains the leading SUV for the seventh consecutive month.

The rivalry between two Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai continues to grow fierce as the former’s sub-4-meter sedan, Dzire has beat the latter’s compact-SUV offering, Creta to become the best-selling car of India in July 2025. Creta previously, had been the best-selling car in India for six consecutive months in 2025.
The sales of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire grew by 79.4% to 20,895 units in July 2025 from 11,647 units in July 2024. The Hyundai Creta, on the other hand, had a slump in its sales figures of 2.6% to 16,898 units in July 2025 from 17,350 units in July 2024. Approximately 4000 more units of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire were sold in July 2025 compared to the Hyundai Creta.
Top Five Best-Selling Cars of India in July 2025
Additionally, the other three cars from the top five best-selling cars in July 2025 consist of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Maruti Suzuki Swift. In addition to that, Maruti Suzuki cars occupied four spots in the top five best-selling cars list of July 2025.

Despite Maruti Suzuki claiming top spot as the best-selling car of India in July 2025, the Hyundai Creta continues to dominate the SUV segment becoming the best-selling SUV of India for the straight seventh month.
