In April 2025, the Mahindra Scorpio became the company’s top-selling SUV, securing the fifth position in India’s overall top 10 passenger vehicle sales. It marked a notable shift in the SUV market, as utility vehicles continued to dominate sales charts.

Mahindra's Scorpio climbed four positions from its March 2025 ranking to reach number five in India’s list of top 10 best-selling passenger vehicles in April 2025. The company sold 15,534 units of the Scorpio during the month, recording a Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) growth of 5% compared to 14,807 units in April 2024. The Mahindra Scorpio ranked ninth in March 2025 sales, where they sold 13,913 units in March 2025 reflecting a Y-o-Y decline of 8% when compared to 15,151 units sold in March 2024. The Mahindra Scorpio’s ex-showroom price in India starts at Rs 13.62 lakh.
April 2025 Mahindra Overall Passenger Vehicle Sales
Mahindra & Mahindra registered strong overall performance in April 2025, selling 54,860 units of passenger vehicles, including domestic and export numbers. This represents a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth of 32.05% when compared to 41,542 units sold in April 2024.Out of this, 52,330 units were sold in the domestic market, showing a growth of 27.6% over April 2024’s figure of 41,008 units. Exports also increased significantly, with 2,530 units shipped in April 2025 compared to 534 units in the same month last year, reflecting a 373.8% rise.
SUVs Dominate Top 10 Sales List Of April 2025
Six of the top 10 passenger vehicles sold in April 2025 were SUVs or MUVs. Hyundai’s Creta topped the list with 17,016 units sold, followed by Maruti Suzuki’s Dzire (16,996 units), Brezza (16,971 units), Ertiga (15,780 units), Mahindra’s Scorpio was next in line with (15,534 units) and Tata Nexon at 5th with (15,457 units). The remaining positions were occupied by Maruti Suzuki’s Swift (14,592 units), Fronx (14,345 units), Wagon R (13,413 units) and Baleno (13,180 units).Maruti Suzuki Continues to Lead with Multiple Models
Maruti Suzuki maintained a strong presence in the market with seven models in the top 10. Hyundai, Mahindra, and Tata had one model each on the list. Tata’s Nexon remained the company’s top-selling car, while Punch dropped out of the top 10.Top 10 Cars Sold in April 2025 (by units)
