Renault Grand Koleos Earns Top Safety Rating In Korea NCAP With Valeo Smart Safety 360

The Renault Grand Koleos, equipped with Valeo's Smart Safety 360 system, has received the highest safety rating in the Korea NCAP tests. The SUV achieved the best score in the ADAS category for D-segment vehicles tested in 2024.

The Grand Koleos is equipped with Valeo's Smart Safety 360 (VSS360) system. This system includes a smart front camera and five radars, forming a 1V5R configuration. It is designed to support L2 and L2+ driver assistance capabilities. The system helps manage driving safety and parking functions.

In the 2024 KNCAP tests, the Grand Koleos achieved the highest ADAS score in the D-segment SUV category. The test considered factors such as detection, response algorithms, and sensor performance.

The VSS360 uses a front-camera-based structure that can connect to additional sensors like radars and ultrasonic units. This setup allows vehicle manufacturers to consolidate functions and reduce separate electronic control units (ECUs).

Valeo has been supplying smart front cameras and ADAS systems to 14 carmakers globally. Since 2019, over 30 million smart front cameras have been produced. The company offers a wide range of hardware and software solutions for vehicle safety and automation.
