After Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors and Kia, Renault India has announced to hike prices of its cars by up to 2 percent, effective from April 2025. The price revision will apply to different models and variants at varying levels.
This is Renault India's first price increase since February 2023. The company has not specified the exact hike for each model but mentioned that it will vary. The company stated that the decision was made due to rising input costs, which it has been absorbing for a long time. The hike is expected to help manage the impact of these expenses.
Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO & Managing Director, Renault India, stated, "Despite our best efforts to maintain prices for a long time, the sustained increase in input costs has necessitated this price adjustment. We have been absorbing these costs for a long time to support our customers, but to continue providing the best quality and innovative products, a price revision has become inevitable."
Recently, Hyundai Motor announced that it will increase the prices of its entire product portfolio by 3% from April 2025 onwards. The company cited rising raw material and operational costs as the reasons for the price hike.
Before Hyundai, Kia also announced a price increase of up to 3% for its cars in India. This hike will take effect from April 1, 2025, and will apply across its entire product range. According to the company, the decision is due to “rising commodity prices and escalating supply chain-related costs.”
Maruti Suzuki was the first to announce a price hike for the upcoming financial year. The company stated that it plans to increase car prices from April 2025, with the hike expected to be up to 4%, varying based on the model.
