Exponent Energy Unveils 1.5MW Rapid Charging Technology For EVs, Expands Across India
Exponent Energy recently took to Twitter to showcase its 1MW rapid charging technology for buses. Additionally, the company announced that it would launch the world’s first 1.5 Megawatts (MW) rapid charging technology for EVs later this year.
Exponent partnered with Veera Vahana to introduce rapid charging intercity bus- Veera Mahasamrat EV in August last year. The company had unveiled India's first 1 MW rapid charging technology for electric buses.
“As a nation we need to have self-belief that we can build and own all layers of EV tech. We’ve historically been followers of ICE. We can’t repeat that with EVs. There was a lot of excitement on the BYD 1MW charging. But we’ve already got 1MW charging right here. We’re doing this on standard off the shelf cells which makes it 10X accessible. BYD has fantastic cell material science capability. Allowing them to do 10C. Stuff we need to catch up on in India. Optimistic that we will have an Indian cell partner soon,” Arun Vinayak, CEO and Co-founder, Exponent Energy, tweets.
Additionally, the companyboasts more than 1700 EVs powered by Exponent on the roads of India, completing over 3.5 lakh rapid charging sessions, covering over 20 lakh km. Furthermore, Exponent has expanded to five new cities: Delhi NCR, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad within two years.
Furthermore, Exponent has raised a total of $44.6 Million in pre-series A, Series A and B led by Lightspeed, Eight Roads Ventures, YourNest VC, 3one4 Capital, AdvantEdge VC, and the family office of Dr. Pawan Munjal, Chairman and CEO, Hero MotoCorp.
