Toyota GT Concept Prototypes Debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025

Japanese automaker, Toyota has debuted its ‘GT concept’ at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025. Additionally, the GT concept from the Japanese automaker was accompanied by a GT3-spec version of the concept car.
The GT Concept from Toyota is expected to be its luxury brand, Lexus’ LFR which is being considered as the successor of LFA. Much like the LFA, the LFR boasts a big hood which indicates it will also be a front-engine car with a mid-engine layout with the engine placed behind the rear axle. In terms of design, the concept car follows similar design throughout with a big hood and shorter rear.
The design of the GT concept car from Toyota boasts an exterior design which features performance-oriented features. At the front, it boasts an angled, wing-shaped headlights. Additionally, there are large air intakes beneath the headlights and ducts on the bonnet, focusing on the air flow management of the car.
Furthermore, there is an opening behind the front fender which highlights the company's attention to detail when it comes to aerodynamic efficiency with a distinct duct placed above the rear wheel arch. Moreover, the rear of the vehicle features a connected tail-lamp setup, air exits, a large diffuser, four exhaust pipes and a ducktail spoiler with a stop light. The four exhaust pipes is a stark distinction when it comes to comparing the concept car and the LFA which had a three-exhaust pipe system.
The concept cars, however, were wrapped in camoflauge while completing their uphill climb. The GT3 version codenamed 'GT Racing Concept' was equipped with a big wing on the rear. The LFR's GT3 racing variant features an aggressive exterior when compared to its standard concept car. Sitting closer to the ground, it has a significant advantage when it comes to having low centre of gravity.
Additionally, the concept GT car incorporates a suite of aerodynamic components including front splitter, an air dam equipped with a tow hook, and endurance-specific running lights integrated into the bumper. Additional enhancements for airflow management are evident through extra ducts on the bonnet and slatted air exits positioned above the front wheel arches.
For track performance, it is fitted with race-spec tires and wheels, side-exit exhausts, a substantial twin-slat diffuser, and a massive rear wing, all designed to maximize downforce and overall racing capability.
