2025 Tesla Model Y Facelift Revealed: Key Updates And Features

Tesla has introduced the 2025 Model Y facelift, on their Chinese consumer website. The updated Model Y incorporates design and feature updates, following the refresh of the Model 3 sedan in 2024.

The updated Model Y will first be available in select Asian markets, Australia and New Zealand, with deliveries beginning in March. In America and Europe, Tesala will continue to sell the pre-facelift version.

The 2025 Tesla Model Y adopts Tesla’s new design language, that includes connected front and rear light bars. The 2025 Model Y gets a refreshed front bumber that is now more streamlined, it also gets Flush Door handles for improved aerodynamics. In terms of dimensions, The 2025 Tesla Model Y measures 4,797mm in length, 47mm longer than before, with a drag coefficient improved from 0.23 to 0.22. Additionally, Alloy wheel options include 19-inch and 20-inch variants.

The facelift is available in six color options: Pure Black (Taiwan-exclusive), Starry Grey, Pearl White, Glacier Blue, Flame Red and Quicksilver.

On the inside, The 2025 Tesla Model Y gets a simplified dashboard centered around a 15.5-inch touchscreen that integrates all major controls, Ventilated front seats, new fabric upholstery, An 8 inch rear touchscreen and boot capacity with rear seats folded now exceeds 2,130 liters.

In terms of safety, The 2025 Tesla Model Y body structure has been reengineered for improved crash absorption. Its Standard features include basic autopilot with optional Enhanced and Full Self-Driving upgrades, Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features like lane change animations and a blind-spot monitor via over-the-air updates.

Tesla has updated the Long Range AWD and RWD variants, offering ranges of 719km and 662km, respectively, under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). Both variants see improvements in acceleration, with the AWD version achieving 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Charging speeds remain capped at 250kW, allowing 266km of range to be added in 15 minutes.

Pricing and U.S. specifications for the facelifted Model Y have not been announced yet. Initial deliveries will begin in China, one of Tesla’s key markets, followed by other Asian countries, Australia and New Zealand.
