Ather Rolls Out ‘Eight70 Warranty’ Offering 8 Years Of Battery Coverage For Rs 4,999

Ather Energy has rolled out the ‘Eight70 Warranty’ for the battery packs of its electric scooters, including the Ather 450 series and the recently launched Rizta. This special warranty is being offered by Ather in collaboration with Reliance General Insurance. This warranty extends additional protection to address long-term concerns regarding battery performance and replacement costs. The company has introduced this special extended battery warranty to address the long term ownership concerns regarding electric scooters in India.

The Eight70 Warranty offers:

Ather’s battery packs undergo 272 tests to assess their performance under various conditions, including temperature extremes, mechanical impact, and vibration stresses. The scooters are also equipped with a Battery Management System (BMS) that monitors the voltage and current of individual cells. Additional temperature sensors embedded within the battery pack ensure it operates within defined safety parameters.

Ather’s portfolio includes the 450 series, which comprises the 450X, 450S, and 450 Apex, as well as the Rizta, which caters to family users. The Eight70 Warranty can be added as a three-year extension to the five-year battery warranty that comes with the pro-pack. It is priced at Rs 4,999 (inclusive of GST) for both the Ather 450 series and Rizta scooters for customers opting for the pro-pack.
