Greaves Electric Mobility Appoints Vikas Singh As Managing Director
Greaves Electric Mobility has appointed Vikas Singh as the new managing director, effective June 2, 2025. Singh, an alumnus of FMS, University of Delhi, brings extensive leadership experience from various sectors, enhancing the company's commitment to advancing electric mobility in India. His appointment coincides with notable growth in the company's sales, particularly in its Ampere brand, which saw a significant rise in electric two-wheeler adoption. The Magnus Neo e-scooter, featuring advanced specifications, contributes to this momentum in the EV market.
Greaves Electric Mobility Appoints Vikas Singh As Managing Director
Greaves Electric Mobility, the e-mobility division of Greaves Cotton Limited, on Tuesday announced the appointment of Vikas Singh as its new managing director, effective June 2, 2025 onwards.
Singh brings leadership experience in driving growth across some of India’s consumer-facing industries. His leadership in regulated environments has further sharpened his ability to drive transformation with resilience and agility. Additionally, Singh is an alumnus of FMS, University of Delhi, and has held leadership positions in various Indian and multinational organizations.
The appointment reinforces GEML’s commitment to its core purpose of democratising smart and sustainable mobility solutions for every Indian and marks a step as the company strengthens its position in India’s growing EV landscape.
“In line with our long-term strategic vision and continued focus on strengthening leadership for future growth, the Board of Greaves Electric Mobility Limited has approved the appointment of Vikas Singh as Managing Director, effective June 2, 2025,” a spokesperson of Greaves Electric Mobility said.
This comes on the back of the company witnessing adoption by electric two-wheeler consumers across India in January. Under the company’s flagship Ampere brand, it sold 3,611 units in January according to the Vahan portal, retaining the fifth spot amongst electric two-wheeler brands in India.
The manufacturer recorded a 53% Y-o-Y growth, and a 27% M-o-M growth driven by sales of its premium family electric scooters - Nexus and Magnus Neo. Overall retail growth for Ampere (including slow-speed vehicles) was 38% M-o-M.
The Magnus Neo was launched several sports upgrades from its predecessor, across the aspects of style, power, strength, savings and safety. The e-scooter features an LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery, providing a certified range of more than 100km while boasting a charging time of 5 to 6 hours.
