Honda, Acura EV Owners Gain Tesla Supercharger Access with Approved Adapters In US

Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX have announced that its owners will have access to over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers across the US with the first Honda-approved NACS-CCS DC fast-charging adapter from June 2025. Moreover, the adapter ensures a reliable charging experience, tested for compatibility with both vehicles with it being the only DC fast-charging adapter approved by Honda.
Ryan Harty, Assistant Vice President of Sustainability and Business Development, American Honda Motor, said, "Integrating Tesla Supercharger network access with existing EV charging options provides Honda and Acura drivers with fast-charging access."
Furthermore, the Japanese automaker plans to offer EV owners access to over 100,000 charging points nationwide by the end of the decade. In addition to that, the Honda-approved adapter will be available for purchase at authorised Honda and Acura dealerships in the US starting in June, with pricing to be confirmed closer to its release. Owners of the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX will be notified through the HondaLink and Acura EV apps when the adapters are available for purchase and to locate Supercharger stations.
However, Tesla requires the use of approved adapters, as Honda recommends using them when charging at Supercharger stations. Additionally, the Japanese automaker claimed that the usage of unapproved adapters may void vehicle warranties.
The Japanese automaker aims to provide EV owners access to around 100,000 DC fast-charge points, including Tesla Superchargers, the IONNA DC fast-charging network, and existing networks like EVgo and Electrify America.
