The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara offers three engine configurations: 144 bhp, 171 bhp, and 181 bhp, with torque ratings of 189 Nm for the 2WD versions and 300 Nm for the 4WD version. In contrast, the Tata Nexon EV has two engine options producing 127.39 bhp and 147.5 bhp, both with a torque output of 215 Nm. This indicates that the e Vitara has higher power output options compared to the Nexon EV.
While the Tata Nexon EV starts at approximately Rs 12.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 17.19 lakh, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is expected to be priced higher, starting around Rs 20 lakh. This pricing strategy reflects Maruti's positioning of the e Vitara as a more premium electric SUV in comparison to the Tata Nexon EV.
The interior of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is designed with a modern aesthetic, featuring a floating dual-screen infotainment system and instrument cluster, a glossy black center console, and a USB charging console for convenience. Additionally, it includes a twin-spoke polygonal steering wheel and a rear seat configuration that allows for reclining and sliding, enhancing passenger comfort.
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is equipped with AllGrip-e technology, an advanced electric four-wheel drive system that features two independent eAxles. This system includes a trail mode, which enhances off-road performance by applying brakes to spinning tires and distributing torque to the opposite wheel, thereby improving traction and control on rough terrains.
Maruti Suzuki aims to launch six electric vehicles by 2031, encompassing a range from small hatchbacks to large SUVs. The company is focused on creating a comprehensive ecosystem for electric mobility, emphasizing customer-centricity and the integration of various fuel options, including hybrids and hydrogen, to contribute to a carbon-neutral future.
