Toshiba To Showcase SCiB Lithium-Ion EV Battery At ASEW 2025
Toshiba is set to participate in ASIA Sustainable Energy Week 2025 from July 2nd to 4th in Bangkok, showcasing its SCiB lithium-ion battery at Booth G51. This battery, featuring lithium titanium oxide anodes, charges rapidly and is engineered for high-frequency usage, making it suitable for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. Toshiba is also testing a Battery-as-a-Service model in Thailand. At the event, the company will present battery samples and engage with attendees to foster collaborations aimed at advancing sustainable energy in Asia.

Technology giant Toshiba has announced its participation in the ASIA Sustainable Energy Week 2025 (ASEW 2025). This event is scheduled to take place from July 2nd to 4th 2025 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok. Sharing this update the company revealed that at the event it will showcase its SCiB lithium-ion battery for the mobility sector at Booth G51.
Battery Technology & Specifications
The information shared by the company outlines that the SCiB lithium-ion battery from Toshiba uses lithium titanium oxide (LTO) as its anode material. It can charge up to 80 percent in six minutes and supports over 20,000 charge-discharge cycles. The battery is designed for sectors that require high-frequency usage.
Application In Clean Mobility
According to the company the SCiB battery is being used in electric vehicles, stationary energy storage systems, logistics fleets and maritime vessels. It is deployed where short charging intervals and long usage periods are operational requirements.
Battery-as-a-Service
Like many major players Toshiba has also embraced the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model for its batteries. The company has shared that a pilot project based on a BaaS model is currently underway in the Bangkok region of Thailand. In this model, electric motorcycle taxi operators use SCiB batteries without purchasing them outright. The project is being implemented with a local partner and considers environmental conditions common in the region.
Participation At ASEW 2025
At ASEW 2025, Toshiba will display battery samples, technical panels and system demonstrations. Staff from the company’s Battery Division will be available to explain the battery's use cases and discuss collaboration possibilities with attendees.
