The new DesertX has been redesigned around a new V2 engine and a revised monocoque frame. The update focuses on mechanical changes, electronics and ergonomics. The 2026 Ducati DesertX will be offered in the Matt Star White Silk livery and is scheduled to reach the Indian market in Q4 2026.

Engine and Transmission
The motorcycle is powered by a new 890cc V2 twin-cylinder engine that puts out 108.4bhp at 9,000 rpm and 92Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Ducati states that 70 percent of peak torque is available at 3,000 rpm.
The gearbox features shorter ratios for the first four gears, while sixth gear is taller for highway riding. Service intervals include valve clearance checks at 45,000 km and oil changes every 15,000 km or two years.
Frame and Suspension
The Ducati DesertX uses a monocoque frame that integrates the airbox and uses the engine as a structural element. A trellis rear subframe is mounted to it. The aluminium swingarm has been developed specifically for this model.
Suspension duties are handled by a fully adjustable 46 mm KYB upside-down fork with 230 mm of travel and a KYB rear monoshock offering 220 mm of travel with progressive linkage. The setup is intended to support both road and off-road riding.
Brakes and Wheels
Braking is managed by Brembo M4.32 calipers with dual 305 mm front discs. The motorcycle runs on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tubeless spoked wheels. It comes equipped with Pirelli Scorpion Rally Street tyres in 90/90 (front) and 150/70 (rear) sizes.
Ergonomics and Design
The riding position has been revised with repositioned footpegs, seat and handlebar. The fuel tank has a capacity of 18 litres and is made of polymer material. Its design places fuel mass lower to support balance.
The front mudguard is mounted higher than before to allow more clearance in muddy conditions. The body panels are shaped to allow movement while standing during off-road riding. The motorcycle weighs 209 kg (wet, without fuel).
Electronics and Riding Modes
The Ducati DesertX is equipped with a 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU). Electronic aids include Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Engine Brake Control (EBC) and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0.
There are six riding modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro and Rally. The Cornering ABS system offers four levels of adjustment and it can be disabled in specific off-road modes.
A 5-inch TFT display shows ride data and supports different information layouts. The motorcycle is also compatible with the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) and turn-by-turn navigation.
