2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class India Launch on October 5

The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach made its global debut earlier this year in March with updates to its exterior design, cabin technology, powertrain and personalisation options. The India-spec model is expected to follow the same set of changes introduced globally, with market-specific specifications likely to be confirmed at the launch.

The updated Maybach S-Class is based on the facelifted Mercedes-Benz S-Class and continues to focus on rear-seat comfort. In India, the Maybach S-Class is expected to be offered with the S 580 and S 680 variants, with the latter likely to use a V8 engine instead of the V12 offered in select international markets.

The updated Maybach S-Class gets a revised front-end design. The signature Maybach grille is larger than before and can be specified with illumination. It retains the vertical slat pattern, while the Maybach lettering can also be illuminated.

The headlamps feature a new three-pointed star LED signature with rose-gold detailing. The tail-lamps also get a revised lighting pattern based around the three-pointed star motif.

Mercedes-Maybach has introduced new forged alloy wheel designs in 20- and 21-inch sizes. Selected wheels feature self-levelling centre caps that keep the Mercedes-Benz logo upright while the car is moving. If introduced, the Night Series package will get dark chrome exterior elements, black-finished wheels and additional paint options, including a Nautic Blue metallic shade.

On the inside the cabin continues to focus on rear-seat occupants. One of the key changes inside the 2026 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is the introduction of the MBUX Superscreen, which integrates the central infotainment screen and front passenger display under a single glass panel.

The updated model also introduces the Mercedes-Benz Operating System, or MB.OS, to the Maybach range. The system supports over-the-air updates and includes AI-based voice assistance with access to multiple digital services.

At the rear, the executive seats can recline by up to 43 degrees and get heating, ventilation and massage functions. Rear passengers also get dedicated entertainment screens and updated control units. Other key features include an upgraded rear centre console, champagne flute holders and an optional refrigerated compartment.

The Maybach S 580 is powered by an updated 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine. Depending on the market specification, the engine produces around 530-537 bhp and 750 Nm of torque, with hybrid assistance.

The S 580e plug-in hybrid is offered in select international markets. It combines a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine with an electric motor and a 22kWh battery pack. The system produces up to around 585 bhp and offers close to 100 km of electric-only range.

The S 680 remains market-dependent. Markets such as the US and UAE continue to get the 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12, while markets including India are expected to receive a higher-output V8 instead.

The India-spec S 680 is expected to produce around 600 bhp and 850 Nm of torque, although the final specifications will be announced at the launch.

The global-spec 2026 model year Maybach S-Class gets an updated Airmatic air suspension system with predictive damping. The system uses available road data to adjust suspension settings. The sedan also gets Mercedes-Benz's latest driver assistance technology, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance and automated lane changes. Parking assistance has also been updated, with support for additional parking scenarios and an improved 360-degree camera system.

The 2026 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is expected to get a price bump in comparison to the outgoing model and come with an ex-showroom price tag of around Rs 2.99 crore.
