2026 MG Hector Teased with New Colour Option Ahead of Upcoming Launch
MG Motor India is teasing the 2026 Hector, set to debut on December 15, 2025. The latest teasers showcase significant exterior updates, including a redesigned front grille, bumper, and new Celadon Blue color. Interior enhancements may include physical buttons alongside the touchscreen, updated software, and possibly ventilated rear seats. The existing engine lineup will remain unchanged, with slight price increases expected. The new Hector will compete against models like the Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass in the mid-size SUV market.

MG Motor India continues its teaser rollout for the 2026 Hector ahead of its scheduled debut on 15 December 2025. The latest set of reveals provides a clearer picture of the mid-size SUV’s exterior revisions, feature updates and expected pricing strategy for the new model year.

The teasers shared by MG reveal that the 2026 Hector will get a new front grille featuring an updated pattern and revised detailing around the front emblem. The front bumper is set to receive a redesigned skid plate, while modifications to the DRL elements are also evident from teaser visuals.
Another recent teaser from the company now confirms a new Celadon Blue colour option. MG Motor India has previewed this colour in multiple teasers and previously used it on the MG Windsor. Previous spy shots of its test mules spotted testing also point to new five-spoke alloy wheels design, a reworked rear bumper along with mild changes to the tailgate. Its overall silhouette remains unmistakably the same.
2026 MG Hector: Interior
On the inside MG is not expected to make layout changes to the cabin. However the company can add physical button control in addition to the central touchscreen system in the dashboard.
Its touchscreen infotainment system can get an updated software along with an expanded connected-car suite. It is also likely to sport new upholstery options, it might also get ventilated rear seats to give it an edge over its competitors. MG can even broaden ADAS functions on select variants.
2026 MG Hector: Powertrain
The MG Hector and Hector Plus will continue with their existing engine lineup:
1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 141bhp and 250Nm of torque, with 6-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission options.
2.0-litre diesel producing 167bhp and 350Nm of torque with 6-speed manual transmission.
No other mechanical changes are anticipated for this model update.
2026 MG Hector: Expected Price
MG Motor India is expected to introduce this updated model with similar starting price with a small upward revision of Rs 25,000 to 50,000 is expected across variants. The outgoing Hector starts at Rs 14.00 lakh (ex-showroom) and the upcoming model is expected to start from Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
2026 MG Hector: Rivals
The 2026 MG Hector and Hector Plus will continue to compete with the likes of Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Mahindra Thar Roxx, Hector Plus will rival the likes of Upcoming Mahindra XUV 7XO, Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra Scorpio-N.
