Aston Martin has expanded its DBX line-up with the new DBX GT. Unlike the DBX S, which focuses on performance, the GT variant has been developed around comfort, refinement and everyday usability. However, there is no reduction in performance.
Aston Martin DBX GT: Design
The DBX GT gets a number of exterior changes that differentiate it from the DBX S. Up front, it gets a new double-vane grille, with the grille elements extending towards the outer vents and daytime running lights. The SUV also gets a new two-piece metal side strake with polished and satin finishes. The front bumper, side sills and rear diffuser are finished in body colour.
Aston Martin offers 22-inch forged alloy wheels as standard, paired with all-season tyres. A 23-inch wheel and tyre package is available as an option. The standard wheel and tyre combination has been selected to improve ride comfort and reduce road noise. At the rear, the DBX GT gets quad exhaust finishers positioned horizontally in pairs. It also features a body-coloured GT splitter, side sills and rear diffuser.
Aston Martin DBX GT: Cabin
Aston Martin DBX GT: Interior
The cabin is where Aston Martin has made some of the biggest changes. The front and rear seats have been redesigned with additional cushioning, revised bolstering and new comfort-focused contours. A 10mm layer of memory foam has been added to the seat cushion structure. The rear gets two individually sculpted seating positions while retaining five-seat functionality. Extended headrests and bolsters are also part of the new rear-seat design. A panoramic glass roof is offered as standard.
The DBX GT gets monotone, duotone and tritone upholstery combinations, along with quilting, perforation and embroidery. Aston Martin has also worked on reducing the amount of road, wind and traffic noise entering the cabin. The DBX GT gets additional sound-deadening material in the doors, wheel arches and rear load area, along with acoustic laminated rear side glass. The company says these changes have resulted in a 13% improvement in the Articulation Index, a measure of how easy it is for occupants to hold a conversation inside a moving vehicle.
The standard equipment list includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch driver display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and an 800-watt, 14-speaker Aston Martin Premium Audio system.
Aston Martin DBX GT: Powertrain & Performance
The DBX GT uses the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 introduced with the DBX S. The engine produces 717bhp and 900Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox with a multi-plate wet clutch. The SUV also gets an electronic active centre transfer case and electronic rear limited-slip differential.
The SUV gets carbon-ceramic brakes with 420mm front and 390mm rear discs. A faster steering ratio is also shared with the DBX S.

Aston Martin DBX GT: Suspension
The DBX GT gets revised damper calibration and a new damper valve system. The changes are aimed at improving ride comfort over rough surfaces while maintaining body control during faster driving.
The spring rate changes according to the selected drive mode, allowing the SUV to alter its roll stiffness balance through corners. It uses adaptive triple-chamber air suspension and a 48-volt electronic active anti-roll control system. Drive modes include GT, Sport, Sport+, Individual and Terrain.
Aston Martin has also recalibrated the 9-speed automatic gearbox for smoother shifts. A new transmission mount bush and two longitudinal dampers between the body and rear subframe are intended to improve refinement over larger road undulations.
Aston Martin DBX GT: Safety
The DBX GT comes with a 3D surround-view system, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, lane-change warning and door-exit warning. Other features include driver attention assist, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic detection and traffic-sign recognition. The SUV also gets airbags and ISOFIX mounts for the outer rear seats.
