Indian EV startup Avore Electric has entered the electric two-wheeler market in the country with the launch of its first electric motorcycle lineup, the EX. The company claims the motorcycles are built on an indigenous platform that combines conventional motorcycle dynamics with connected EV technology. Bookings for the same are now open for an amount of Rs 799 and the deliveries are expected to commence within the next two months.

The Avore EX has been introduced in India in three variants - EX1, EX2 and EX2S. The Avore EX1 serves as the entry point to the range and is priced at Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The mid-spec EX2 is priced at Rs 1.46 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-spec EX2S is priced at Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom).

Avore EX: Design

The Avore EX features an integrated motor and swingarm layout, which the company calls the Drive Link Arm. According to Avore, this design helps centralise mass and improve handling characteristics. The motorcycles are offered in Starlit Blue, Meteor Red and Stellar Black colour options. While the EX1 is available in single-tone finishes, the EX2 and EX2S receive dual-tone paint schemes.

Avore EX: Features

One of the key highlights of the EX is the Syft manual gear simulation system, which allows riders to switch between automatic operation and a simulated four-speed manual mode. The motorcycles also get multiple riding modes, reverse mode, park assist, automatic indicator cut-off and an Apex performance mode. The EX1 features a 7-inch segmented LCD instrument cluster, while the EX2S is equipped with a 7-inch TFT display supporting 4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity.
The flagship variant also offers smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, geofencing, crash alerts, cruise control, hill-hold assist and AI-powered connected functions through the company's 'AVORE SENSE' platform.

Avore EX: Battery Pack, Powertrain, Range & Charging

Powering the Avore EX is a rare-earth-free Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), with the company claiming peak wheel torque of 250 Nm across the range. The EX1 comes with a 3.24 kWh battery pack offering a claimed IDC-certified range of 160 km. The EX2 and EX2S use a larger 5 kWh battery pack with claimed IDC ranges of 255 km and 260 km, respectively.
The EX1 has a claimed top speed of 100 kmph, while the EX2S raises this to 114 kmph. The company also claims the EX2S can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.8 seconds.
The EX2 and EX2S feature a 1,500W onboard charger that can be connected to a standard 5A or 15A household socket. Avore claims the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in around two hours, while a full charge takes approximately four hours. The battery pack is covered by a warranty of five years or 60,000 km.

Avore EX: Safety

The EX comes equipped with disc brakes at both ends with a Combined Braking System (CBS) as standard. The motorcycles also feature reverse assist, park assist and automatic indicator cut-off, while the top-spec EX2S adds hill-hold assist and crash alert functionality.
