Bentley Torcal Confirmed as Brand’s First Electric SUV; Global Debut Set for September 23

Bentley has officially revealed the name of its first-ever production electric vehicle - Torcal. The upcoming luxury electric SUV is set to make its global debut on September 23, 2026. The new model marks a major milestone in Bentley’s electrification journey and will become the fourth model line in the British luxury carmaker’s portfolio, joining the Bentayga, Continental and Flying Spur.
Key Highlights:
  • Bentley’s first production EV will be called the Torcal.
  • Global debut is scheduled for September 23, 2026.
  • The new luxury electric SUV is expected to sit below the Bentayga.
  • Claims up to 160 km of range can be added in around seven minutes of charging.
The Torcal is expected to play a key role in expanding Bentley’s electric vehicle lineup while offering a more compact alternative to the Bentayga.

Name Inspired by Spain’s Famous Rock Formations

The name Torcal is derived from the El Torcal de Antequera, a famous limestone rock formation located in southern Spain. Bentley says the name reflects the brand’s connection with natural beauty while introducing a new era of luxury electric mobility.
Described by the company as a "Luxury Urban SUV," the Torcal has been designed to cater to customers looking for a premium electric SUV with everyday usability.

Bentley Torcal: Expected to Sit Below the Bentayga

The Bentley Torcal is expected to be built on the Volkswagen Group's Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture. The same platform will also underpin the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Electric and the Audi A6 e-tron.
Bentley has confirmed that the SUV will measure less than five metres in length, indicating that it will be positioned below the Bentayga in the brand's global lineup.

Bentley Torcal: Fast Charging Promised

One of the biggest highlights of the upcoming electric SUV is its charging capability. Bentley claims the Torcal will be able to add up to 160 km of driving range in around seven minutes, provided suitable high-speed charging conditions are available.
The company has not yet revealed the official driving range or battery capacity.

Bentley Torcal: Design Teased Ahead of Global Reveal

While Bentley has not fully revealed the Torcal's exterior, teaser images provide a glimpse of its styling. The SUV appears to feature slim LED headlamps and taillamps, a sleek rear windscreen and a roof-mounted spoiler.
Spy shots of test vehicles seen overseas also suggest the SUV could get an enclosed front grille, illuminated design elements and styling inspired by the latest Continental and Flying Spur models.

Interior and Powertrain Details Yet to Be Confirmed

Interior spy images indicate that the Torcal could feature a large curved portrait-style infotainment display along with switchgear similar to the latest Audi models. However, Bentley has not confirmed the final cabin layout or features.
Powertrain specifications also remain under wraps. Industry reports suggest the Torcal is likely to use a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup and may share the 113 kWh battery pack expected in the Porsche Cayenne Electric. Bentley, however, has not officially confirmed these details.
The company is expected to reveal more information about the Bentley Torcal, including its complete specifications and features, as its global debut on September 23, 2026 draws closer.
