GST Price Cut on BMW Cars Up to Rs 8.9 Lakh in India
BMW India has adjusted the prices of its sedan and SUV models following the new GST 2.0 implementation, effective September 2025. The revisions have resulted in price reductions across various models, with the BMW X5 experiencing the largest decrease of Rs 8.9 lakh, while the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé sees a smaller cut of Rs 1.6 lakh. The changes in GST rates have also affected taxation, leading to lower tax rates across different vehicle categories, enhancing affordability for consumers.
GST Price Cut on BMW Cars Up to Rs 8.9 Lakh in India
BMW India has revised the pricing of its sedan and SUV lineup following the introduction of GST 2.0. The updated rates, effective September 2025, have brought down ex-showroom prices across multiple models.
The price reduction varies across the portfolio. The lowest cut is about Rs 1.6 lakh on the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, while the highest drop is Rs 8.9 lakh on the BMW X5.

The revised GST framework has realigned tax slabs across the automobile sector. Small petrol cars under four metres with engines up to 1,200cc are now taxed at 18%, compared to 29% earlier. Diesel cars under 1,500cc have also shifted to 18% from 31%. Mid-size vehicles now face 40% GST instead of 45%, while large SUVs and luxury models, earlier taxed between 48–50%, are now uniformly charged at 40%.
