Renault Cars GST Price Cut: Renault India has announced a price reduction for its passenger vehicles due to the new GST 2.0 tax structure, effective September 22, 2025. The reductions range from Rs 35,000 on select Kwid models to Rs 96,395 for the Kiger CVT. The updated GST rates have significantly lowered taxes on various vehicle categories; small petrol cars and diesel cars under specific limits are now taxed at 18%, while larger vehicles face reduced rates. Renault aims to enhance accessibility and boost demand during the festive season.
GST Price Cut on Renault Cars Up to Rs 96,000 in India
Renault India has announced a price reduction across its passenger vehicle range, following the implementation of GST 2.0. The company confirmed that the revised prices will come into effect from September 22, 2025, in line with the new tax structure.
The reduction varies across models. The lowest cut is Rs 35,000 on select Kwid variants, while the highest is Rs 96,395 on the Kiger CVT top-end versions.
The revised GST framework has adjusted rates across vehicle categories. Small petrol cars under four metres with engines up to 1,200cc now fall under the 18% slab, compared to 29% earlier. Diesel cars under 1,500cc have also dropped to 18% from 31%. Mid-size vehicles now face 40% GST instead of 45%, while large SUVs and luxury cars, which previously attracted 48–50%, are now taxed at a uniform 40%.
Renault’s current lineup in India includes the Kwid, Triber, and Kiger, all of which benefit from this revision. The company has stated that bookings are already open at the updated prices, ahead of the formal rollout of the new GST rates.
