Suzuki's price cuts of up to Rs 18,000 are competitive within the market, but Honda and Yamaha also announced significant reductions. For instance, Honda's price cuts can reach up to Rs 18,887 for models like the CB350, while Yamaha offers reductions up to Rs 17,581 on models like the R15. This indicates a broader trend in the industry where multiple manufacturers are leveraging GST reductions to attract customers during the festive season.
The GST price cut is expected to significantly boost the two-wheeler market by making vehicles more affordable. As seen with Suzuki, Honda, and Yamaha, the reductions can lead to increased sales during the festive season, a critical time for consumer spending. This initiative not only supports manufacturers by enhancing demand but also helps consumers by reducing the financial burden of purchasing and maintaining two-wheelers.
In addition to the GST price cuts, Suzuki is offering promotional incentives such as cashback and exchange offers for models like the Gixxer and V-Strom SX. Customers can receive exchange incentives of up to Rs 10,000 and cashbacks that can reach Rs 25,000 for specific models. These offers are designed to enhance customer appeal and stimulate sales during the festive season.
For two-wheelers over 350cc, the GST rate is set at 18%, while those under 350cc face a higher rate of 40%. This has led to significant price reductions for models like Honda's CB350, which sees cuts up to Rs 18,887. This change aims to stimulate sales in the premium segment, which is crucial for growth in the two-wheeler market.
Hero MotoCorp has embraced the GST reforms by passing on the full tax benefits to customers, resulting in price cuts across its range of motorcycles and scooters. The company emphasizes enhancing affordability and accessibility, particularly ahead of the festive season. By doing so, Hero aims to boost consumer demand and support the broader economic growth in the two-wheeler sector.
