Honda Dio 125 X Edition Unveiled Ahead of India Launch

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), the two-wheeler division of the Japanese automaker in India has expanded the Dio 125 scooter line-up in India with the introduction of the Dio 125 X Edition. This new variant comes with design updates and mechanically it remains similar to the existing H-Smart trim.

The Honda Dio 125 X Edition gets dual-tone body panels, revised graphics and X Edition decals. These changes are limited to the exterior, while the overall design, dimensions and component layout remain identical to the higher-spec Dio 125 variants already on sale.

The Dio 125 X Edition gets the same 123.92 cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke SI engine offered on the H-Smart trim. This engine generates 8.1 bhp and 10.5 Nm of torque. In terms of features, the X Edition carries forward the equipment offered on the H-Smart variant. This includes a TFT display, side-stand engine cut-off function and an idle stop-start system. No additional features have been introduced with this edition.

The braking and suspension setup also remains unchanged. The scooter continues to use a 190 mm front disc brake and a 130 mm rear drum brake. Tyre sizes stand at 90/90-12 at the front and 90/100-10 at the rear, both tubeless. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a three-step adjustable spring-loaded hydraulic unit at the rear.

Dimensionally, the Dio 125 X Edition measures 1,830 mm in length, 707 mm in width and 1,172 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,260 mm. Ground clearance is rated at 171 mm, seat length at 708 mm and kerb weight at 105 kg. The fuel tank capacity remains unchanged at 5.3 litres.

Pricing for the Dio 125 X Edition is expected to be aligned with the current premium trims of the Dio 125 range. Further details are likely to be announced at the time of the launch.
