Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Sales Rise 8% in August 2026, Cross 5.79 Lakh Units
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) experienced significant sales growth in August 2026, selling 5.79 lakh units, an 8% increase from the previous year. Domestic sales rose to 5.17 lakh units, while exports surged 15% to 61,000 units.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) reported strong sales growth in August 2026, with total sales reaching 5.79 lakh units. The two-wheeler manufacturer recorded an 8% year-on-year increase compared to the 5.34 lakh units sold in the same month last year.

Domestic sales accounted for 5.17 lakh units, up 8% from 4.81 lakh units recorded in August last year. The company also saw stronger demand in international markets, with exports rising 15% year-on-year to 61,000 units from 53,000 units.
FY27 Sales Up 13%
Honda has also maintained healthy growth during the first five months of the current financial year. Between April and August 2026, HMSI sold a total of 27.33 lakh units, registering 13% growth compared to 24.25 lakh units during the same period in FY26.
Domestic sales during the April-August period stood at 24.07 lakh units, marking an 11% increase over the 21.76 lakh units sold during the corresponding period last year.
Exports were the biggest growth driver, rising 31% year-on-year to 3.26 lakh units from 2.49 lakh units.
Honda Expands Reach Across India
HMSI said it continued to serve customers across the country during August through its extensive retail network. The company currently has more than 7,000 touchpoints across India, helping it strengthen its presence across different markets.
With both domestic sales and exports showing growth, Honda has started FY27 on a positive note. The company is expected to focus on expanding its two-wheeler portfolio and strengthening its presence in key segments as competition in the Indian two-wheeler market continues to grow.
