Hyundai Bayon SUV Makes Global Debut Ahead of October 26 India Launch, Bookings Open
Hyundai has officially unveiled the new Bayon SUV at Paris Motor Show 2026. The Bayon is designed to bridge the gap between the Venue and the Creta in the manufacturer's expanding utility vehicle portfolio. The vehicle, which features the brand's latest design language, is scheduled for a formal price announcement on October 26th 2026. Sharing this update the automaker revealed that the bookings for the same are now open for an amount of Rs 11,000.
The Bayon adopts what Hyundai describes as the Art of Steel design philosophy, resulting in an aesthetic that draws visual inspiration from the larger, North American-market Tucson. While official dimensions have not been disclosed, the vehicle is expected to measure slightly over four meters in length, positioning it as a distinct alternative to the 4.3-meter Creta. The front fascia is characterized by a layered design, featuring a split headlamp configuration and slim LED daytime running lights integrated into a black trim piece on the bonnet's leading edge.
Hyundai Bayon: Design
The exterior profile of the Bayon emphasizes a crossover-inspired silhouette rather than a traditional boxy SUV shape. Notable design elements include flared wheel arches, sharp character lines, and petal-style alloy wheels. The rear of the vehicle is defined by a slim black band connecting the sleek tail lamps, with the model name prominently displayed on the tailgate. A roof spoiler and a dual-tone bumper finish complete the rear styling, while the use of gloss-black pillars provides a floating roof effect.Hyundai Bayon: Interior & Features
Inside, the cabin shares several components with the latest i20, including the steering wheel design and door panel layout. The dashboard is dominated by a twin 12.3-inch connected screen setup. A central panel houses the HVAC controls, which retain physical dials and knobs for ease of use. The center console includes a wireless charging pad, and the vehicle is equipped with steering-mounted paddle shifters. As is standard for the brand, the interior is expected to feature a comprehensive suite of convenience and safety technology.Hyundai Bayon: Powertrain
At launch, the Hyundai Bayon will be powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. This unit, which produces 115hp and 144Nm of torque, will be available with both manual and CVT transmission options. While not yet confirmed, industry expectations suggest that a CNG variant may be introduced at a later date. If realized, this would make the Bayon the first Hyundai model exceeding four meters in length to offer a CNG powertrain, likely utilizing an underbody tank configuration.Hyundai Bayon: Expected Price & Rivals
The Bayon is expected to be priced between Rs 9 lakh and 14 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing strategy is intended to provide Hyundai with a dual-model approach in the midsize SUV segment, allowing the company to compete more effectively against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Victoris and other SUVs in the segment.Official Statement
