Hyundai is set to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in India with the introduction of an all-new electric SUV in Q4. The upcoming model will be designed and localised specifically for the Indian market and will sit below the Creta Electric in Hyundai’s EV line-up.
The confirmation comes from Hyundai Motor Company’s 2026 CEO Investor Day, where the company outlined plans to launch or refresh more than 100 vehicles globally by 2030. India is among the key markets for this product offensive, with 26 launches and refreshes planned for the country.
While Hyundai has not revealed the name, specifications or pricing of the upcoming electric SUV, the company has confirmed that it will get a next-generation infotainment system and Level-2 ADAS.

Hyundai Electric SUV: What To Expect?

The new model is described by Hyundai as an all-new A-segment SUV EV for India. The company has not officially confirmed its dimensions or whether it will fall below the four-metre mark, although its positioning suggests that it will target the more affordable end of India’s electric SUV market.
The upcoming EV will be an important addition to Hyundai’s portfolio as the company looks to broaden its presence beyond the Creta Electric. Hyundai has also confirmed that India will receive a new ICE-powered mid-size SUV as part of its upcoming product offensive.
Hyundai has confirmed two key technology highlights for the new electric SUV. It will feature a next-generation infotainment system and Level-2 ADAS.
The company’s latest software strategy is centred around its Pleos Connect infotainment platform, which is already being introduced on newer Hyundai models. Hyundai says the system forms part of a broader data-driven ecosystem involving data collection, AI, service improvements and over-the-air updates.
However, Hyundai has not yet disclosed the complete equipment list of the India-spec electric SUV. Features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera and V2L functionality remain unconfirmed at this stage. Hyundai has not announced the battery capacity, motor output or claimed range of its upcoming India-specific electric SUV.

Hyundai’s India Strategy

The new electric SUV is part of Hyundai’s larger product expansion in India. According to the company, 26 new vehicle launches and updates are planned for the Indian market by 2030.
Hyundai also plans to add another 3,20,000 units of manufacturing capacity in India by 2030 as part of its global expansion. Taking leverage of its enhanced production the company aims to export 30 percent of its India production by 2030.
