Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has introduced a new structured buyback programme for select Range Rover, Defender and Discovery models, becoming the latest luxury carmaker in the country to offer customers an assured future resale value. The programme promises an assured buyback value of up to 55% of the vehicle's original ex-showroom price, helping buyers reduce uncertainty around resale while making it easier to upgrade to a newer model in the future.

Key Highlights:
- JLR India introduces a structured buyback programme for select luxury SUVs.
- Eligible customers can get an assured resale value of up to 55% of the original ex-showroom price.
- The scheme covers select Range Rover, Defender and Discovery models with flexible finance options.
- The move follows similar ownership programmes offered by BMW India and Mercedes-Benz India.
The initiative has been developed specifically for the Indian market and combines guaranteed future value with flexible financing options to improve affordability and enhance the overall ownership experience.
How the Buyback Programme Works
Under the new scheme, eligible customers will receive a guaranteed buyback value of up to 55% of the original ex-showroom price. However, the exact resale value will vary depending on factors such as the model purchased, ownership period, agreed annual mileage and terms offered by the authorised JLR retailer.
The company clarified that the maximum 55% assured value will not apply to every vehicle. Customers will need to meet pre-agreed mileage limits and other conditions to qualify for the promised buyback amount.
Flexible Finance Options Included
Along with the assured buyback programme, JLR India is also offering enhanced financing solutions for eligible models. These finance plans are designed to provide more flexible monthly payment structures, making ownership of Range Rover, Defender and Discovery vehicles more accessible.
The company believes the combination of lower ownership risk and easier financing will encourage more buyers to consider its luxury SUV portfolio.
Luxury Carmakers Focus on Residual Value
JLR joins other premium automotive brands that have increasingly introduced residual value and buyback programmes in India.
BMW India offers its BMW 360 programme, which provides an assured buyback value of up to 70% of the ex-showroom price on select sedans and SUVs.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz India offers its Star Agility+ programme, which uses a pre-defined residual value to reduce monthly EMIs. Customers can choose loan tenures ranging from 12 to 60 months along with different annual mileage options.
Why Buyback Programmes Matter
Industry experts believe guaranteed buyback and residual value schemes are becoming an important factor in the luxury vehicle segment. Such programmes offer greater clarity on future resale value, lower the overall cost of ownership and reduce financing risks for buyers.
They also encourage existing customers to upgrade to newer models more frequently, making structured buyback programmes an increasingly important strategy for luxury carmakers looking to strengthen customer loyalty and boost sales.
