Mahindra Thar Facelift Launched at Rs 9.99 in India - Design, Engine, Price and More
Mahindra has introduced the Thar Facelift in India, starting at Rs 9.9 lakh (ex-showroom). It retains its rugged design while featuring a bolder front grille, LED DRLs, and new alloy wheels. Inside, it offers a black-themed dashboard, a 10.2-inch HD touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, and practical enhancements like rear AC vents and cruise control. Engine options include petrol and diesel variants with manual and automatic transmissions. The vehicle maintains superior off-road capabilities and is equipped with essential safety features, available in AXT and LXT variants.

Mahindra Thar Facelift: Design and Colour Options
In terms of design, Mahindra Thar Facelift continues to carry its unmistakable rugged identity, now made bolder with a distinct front grille, iconic round headlamps with LED DRLs and dual-tone bumpers. New 18-inch alloy wheels and an updated color palette that includes Galaxy Grey, Stealth Black, Battleship Grey, Tango Red, Deep Forest and Everest White add to its appeal.
Mahindra Thar Facelift: Interior and Features
On the inside, the Thar Facelift cabin gets an all-new black-themed dashboard, a new steering wheel and enhanced practicality with features like rear AC vents, sliding armrest with storage, one-touch power windows and an A-pillar entry assist handle.
The new Thar is now smarter than ever, it gets a 10.2 inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an adventure statistics Gen II display, rearview camera and Tyre Direction Monitoring System (TDMS). Other additions include cruise control, rear wiper with washer and electric ORVM adjustment.
Mahindra Thar Facelift: Powerful Engine Options
Under the hood, the Thar facelift continues to offer both petrol and diesel powertrains:
- 2.0L mStallion Petrol: 150 bhp and up to 320 Nm torque
- 1.5L mHawk Turbo Diesel with CRDe: 116.9 bhp and 300 Nm torque
- 2.2L mHawk Diesel (CRDe / D117): 130 bhp and 300 Nm torque
Mahindra Thar Facelift: Off-Road Capability
Staying true to its roots, the new Thar maintains best-in-class off-road performance with:
- Approach angle: 41.8°
- Departure angle: 36°
- Ramp-over angle: 27°
- Water wading capacity: 650 mm
It also gets, features like electric driveline disconnect for the front axle, advanced brake-locking differential, hill hold & descent control and a built-in roll cage.
Mahindra Thar Facelift: Safety Features
In terms of safety, the Mahindra Thar facelift comes equipped with ESP with rollover mitigation, dual airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD and brake assist and three-point seatbelts to ensure peace of mind both on and off the road.
