Mahindra XEV 9S vs Mahindra XEV 9e Spec Comparison: What’s Different?

Indian automaker, Mahindra is making waves when it comes to the electric SUV market with its latest launch of the XEV 9S three-row electric SUV. While siblings, the Mahindra XEV 9S will compete against the likes of Mahindra XEV 9e, which is its closest competitor in Mahindra’s electric origin SUV portfolio. Both the electric SUVs boast different design languages, with the former being a three-row SUV and the latter being an SUV Coupe.

Mahindra XEV 9S vs Mahindra XEV 9e: Dimensions

The Mahindra XEV 9S boasts a length of 4,797 mm, width of 1,900 mm and a height of 1,747 mm. Additionally, the three-row electric SUV boasts a wheelbase of 2,762 mm.

The Mahindra XEV 9e boasts a length of 4,789 mm, width of 1,907 mm and a height of 1,694 mm. In addition to that, the SUV coupe from Mahindra boasts a wheelbase of 2,775 mm.

Mahindra XEV 9S vs Mahindra XEV 9e: Battery Pack and Performance

The Mahindra XEV 9S is offered with three different battery pack options: a 59 kWH battery pack, a 70 kWH battery pack and a 79 kWH battery pack. The electric SUV boasting the 59 kWH battery boasts a peak power output of 228 bhp while the SUV with 70 kWH battery pack boasts a peak power output of 241.3 bhp. Lastly, the 79 kWH battery pack variant boasts a peak power output of 281.6 bhp.

The Mahindra XEV 9e, on the other hand, is available with a rear-wheel drive setup only. The electric SUV from Mahindra boasts two battery sizes: 59 kWH and 79 kWH. The former powers an electric motor producing 227.97 bhp with the latter producing 281.6 bhp. The torque produced by both variants remains the same at 380 Nm.

Mahindra XEV 9S vs Mahindra XEV 9e: Features

The Mahindra XEV 9S is filled with features including cruise control, multi-level regenerative braking, variable-ratio electronic power steering, multiple drive modes with Boost, one-pedal driving, sliding and reclining 60:40 split second-row seats, a 15-litre frunk, and up to 527-litre of boot space, push-button start, automatic lights and wipers, rear AC vents, cooled storage, tilt/telescopic steering, 65W Type-C ports, smart climate functions like PawPal, Keep, and Camp Modes, ventilated front seats, a powered driver seat with lumbar, auto-folding ORVMs and an auto-dimming IRVM, among others.

Mahindra XEV 9e, on the other hand, features Level 2+ ADAS, a digital infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch triple displays, autopark, cooled console storage, automatic climate control and panoramic sunroof, among others.
