Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG India Debut Tomorrow: Here’s What to Expect

Mahindra is set to unveil the XUV 3XO CNG in India on October 15th 2026. The upcoming model will add a factory-fitted CNG option to the compact SUV's existing petrol, diesel and electric powertrain lineup. The company has teased the new variant ahead of its debut, while images of a test vehicle have also surfaced online.

The XUV 3XO CNG will mark Mahindra's entry into the factory-fitted CNG passenger vehicle segment. It will compete with the Tata Nexon i-CNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza S-CNG, which are currently among the few compact SUVs in India available with CNG powertrains.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Expected Powertrain

The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG is expected to use the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine with multi-point fuel injection (MPFI). In the standard petrol version, this engine produces 110bhp and 200Nm of torque.

The power and torque figures in CNG mode have not been revealed yet. Mahindra is also expected to announce the transmission options and certified fuel efficiency at the debut. A manual gearbox is likely, although the company has not confirmed the available transmission options.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Expected Design & Features

The upcoming CNG variant is expected to retain the overall design of the existing XUV 3XO, with a few styling elements similar to the RevX range. Mahindra's teaser has also indicated the presence of a panoramic sunroof.

Spy images show familiar exterior elements, including connected LED tail-lamps, roof rails, a rear spoiler and a rear wiper. The test vehicle also carries a CNG sticker on the rear windscreen.

Inside, the SUV is expected to retain the existing dashboard layout. Leaked images suggest that the CNG variant could get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. The final equipment list and variant details will be announced by Mahindra.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: CNG Technology & Boot Space

Leaked images indicate that the XUV 3XO CNG could feature a dual-cylinder setup. This arrangement is expected to occupy part of the luggage compartment, although the available boot space and final cylinder configuration are yet to be confirmed officially. The boot layout will be an important consideration for buyers who plan to use the SUV for family trips and regular luggage carrying.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Expected Price

Mahindra has not announced the price of the XUV 3XO CNG. The existing XUV 3XO range starts at Rs 7.79 lakh (ex-showroom), and the CNG version is expected to be introduced with a starting ex-showroom price of around 8.49 lakh.
