Maruti Suzuki Gujarat Facility Achieves Annual Production Capacity of 10 Lakh Vehicles

Maruti Suzuki India has announced the commencement of commercial production at its fourth manufacturing plant at its Hansalpur facility in Gujarat. The information shared by the automaker outlines that the Gujarat facility now boasts an enhanced annual production capacity of 10 lakh vehicles. According to the company this milestone makes it the automaker’s first manufacturing facility anywhere in the world to achieve this level of annual production capacity at a single location while also making it India's largest passenger vehicle manufacturing facility.

The newly commissioned Plant D of this facility adds 2.5 lakh units of annual production capacity, taking the Hansalpur facility's total output from 7.5 lakh units to 10 lakh units per year. With this expansion, Maruti Suzuki's total manufacturing capacity across India has increased to 29 lakh vehicles annually.

Maruti Suzuki said the new production line will initially manufacture the e Vitara electric SUV. The Hansalpur manufacturing complex currently produces the Baleno, Fronx, Swift and e Vitara across its four production plants.

The Hansalpur plant has become one of Maruti Suzuki's most important production bases, serving both domestic and export markets. During FY2025-26, the facility accounted for nearly 47 per cent of the company's total vehicle exports, underlining its role in Maruti Suzuki's global manufacturing strategy.
