Maruti Suzuki Reports 1,80,683 Unit Sales Amid Export Surge in August 2025
Maruti Suzuki reported sales of 1,80,683 units in August 2025, reflecting a slight decrease of 0.6% from the previous year. Domestic passenger car sales declined by 8.24%, while the entry-level mini segment faced a significant drop of 35.64%. However, compact vehicle sales saw a modest increase of 2.66%. The utility vehicle segment also experienced a 13.78% decline. Notably, export sales surged by 40.5%. Cumulatively, from April to August FY25-26, total sales rose by 1.1%, with exports increasing by 37%.

Maruti Suzuki Reports 1,80,683 Unit Sales Amid Export Surge in August 2025
Maruti Suzuki on Monday announced that it sold 1,80,683 units in August 2025, taking a marginal hit of 0.6% compared to 1,81,782 units sold in August 2024. Additionally, domestic passenger car sales amounted to 1,31,278 units sold in August 2025, a decline of 8.24% compared to 1,43,075 units sold during the same period of the previous year.
Maruti Suzuki Mini Category Sales Report
The entry-level mini category which comprises of the Alto K10 and S-Presso witnessed a decline of 35.64% to 10,648 units in August 2025 compared to 6,853 units in August 2024.
Maruti Suzuki Compact Category Sales Report
The compact vehicles of Maruti Suzuki which comprise of Baleno, Ignis, Dzire, Swift and WagonR witnessed a minor increase of 2.66% to 59.597 units in August 2025 compared to 58,051 units in August 2024.
Maruti Suzuki Utility Vehicle Category Sales Report
The utility vehicle segment which includes Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny and XL6 witnessed a decline of 13.78% to 54,043 units in August 2025 compared to 62,684 units in August 2024.
Maruti Suzuki Export Sales Report
Total export sales recorded a 40.5% increase to 36,538 units in August 2025 compared to 26,003 units during the same period of the corresponding year. Export sales might witness further increase with the company’s electric SUV, the e Vitara being produced locally and being exported to foreign markets.
The total sales of Maruti Suzuki from April to August FY25-26 amounted to 8,89,070 units, a 1.1% increase from 8,78,691 in April to August FY24-25. Furthermore, export sales from April to August FY25-26 saw a rise of 37% to 1,65,255 units from 1,20,548 units in April to August FY24-25.
