Maxvolt Energy Invests Rs 700 Crore in New Aligarh Plant to Scale EV Battery Output to 10 GWh

Maxvolt Energy is set to expand its battery manufacturing capacity with a Rs 700 crore plant in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The details shared by the company outlines that the upcoming facility will have a planned production capacity of 10 GWh and will also enable the company to enter the four-wheeler electric vehicle battery segment.

The Aligarh plant will manufacture battery solutions ranging from 1 kW to 5 MW. The facility will also have battery management system (BMS) capabilities for slow charging and L3 and L5 fast-charging applications.

Maxvolt Energy will set up dedicated OEM production lines at the facility. These will allow the company to develop battery packs based on individual customer specifications and production requirements.

The new facility will be spread across approximately six acres and will be developed in two phases, with each phase offering 5 GWh of annual manufacturing capacity. Once fully operational, Maxvolt Energy's combined planned capacity across its Aligarh and existing Duhai facilities will stand at 12.5 GWh per year.

The company's existing portfolio includes battery solutions for two- and three-wheelers. With the new facility, Maxvolt Energy will expand into four-wheeler EV batteries. The plant will also cater to applications such as energy storage, telecom and power backup.

The Aligarh facility will expand Maxvolt Energy's battery business beyond the two-wheeler and three-wheeler market. Four-wheeler EV batteries will be among the new applications supported by the new facility.
