The electric luxury SUV will be available in Standard and Turbo Electric variants, with the latter offering more than 1,100bhp.

  • Porsche Cayenne Electric to launch in India on September 30
  • Prices start at Rs 1.77 crore (ex-showroom)
  • Offered in Standard and Turbo Electric variants
  • Turbo Electric delivers 1,140 bhp and 1,150 Nm

Porsche Cayenne Electric: Design

The Cayenne Electric measures 4,985mm in length, 1,980mm in width and 1,674mm in height, while its wheelbase stands at 3,023mm.
The electric SUV gets a redesigned front-end with a closed panel replacing the conventional grille. The lower section of the bumper features blacked-out air vents to improve airflow and help manage battery temperatures. However, several design elements, including the headlights, bonnet and air vents, retain similarities with the ICE-powered Cayenne.
From the side, the SUV maintains the familiar Cayenne silhouette but gets 20- to 22-inch alloy wheels with an aerodynamic design. At the rear, Porsche has introduced sharper taillights connected by a slim LED light bar, along with a large black diffuser.

Porsche Cayenne Electric: Interior and Features

Inside, the Cayenne Electric gets a minimalist dashboard with very few physical buttons. The centre console also features a large storage area underneath the infotainment system.
The SUV comes with a 14.5-inch curved infotainment touchscreen, while buyers can also opt for a 14.9-inch passenger display and an augmented-reality head-up display. Audio options include a 14-speaker Bose system, with a 20-speaker Harman Kardon setup available as an option.
Other features include four-zone climate control, ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof. The standard model gets eight-way electrically adjustable front seats, while the range-topping variant gets 18-way electrically adjustable seats.

Porsche Cayenne Electric: Battery and Range

Power comes from a 113kWh battery pack paired with dual electric motors and an all-wheel-drive system. The Standard variant has a claimed range of 642km, while the Turbo Electric offers up to 623km on a single charge.
Adaptive air suspension is offered as standard, while rear-wheel steering is available as an option. Porsche will also offer an 11kW wireless charging system, making the Cayenne Electric the first Porsche to get this technology as an option.
The SUV can recover up to 600kW of energy through regenerative braking, depending on factors such as speed, temperature and battery charge level. Porsche claims the electric motors can handle up to 97 percent of braking.

Porsche Cayenne Electric: Power and Performance

The Standard Cayenne Electric produces 402bhp and 835Nm, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 230 kmph. The Turbo Electric takes performance to another level, producing up to 1,140bhp and 1,150 Nm. It can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 260 kmph.

Porsche Cayenne Electric India Debut

With its combination of high performance, long claimed range and luxury features, the Cayenne Electric will become Porsche India's latest electric SUV offering. The September 30 debut will reveal the final positioning and specifications for the Indian market.
