Renault Triber, Kiger to Get Factory-Fitted Underbody CNG in India Along With Biggest Screen in the Segment

The Indian wing of the French automaker Renault India has revealed its 2030 plan for the domestic market. The details shared by the automaker outlines that Renault is planning to roll out a new REGP (Renault Group Entry Platform) architecture in India. This platform will replace the company’s existing CMFA platform and will underpin Renault vehicles priced under Rs 10 lakh. In its 2030 plan, Renault also revealed that it is planning to update the Triber and Kiger soon in India.

According to the information shared by the company, the Triber and Kiger will be updated in the Indian market in the coming months. The upcoming iterations of both these models will be based on the new REGP architecture.

Sharing this update Renault India also revealed that the upcoming Triber and Kiger will also get an underbody CNG tank, freeing up essential boot space. These models will come with factory-fitted CNG for the first time in the domestic market. At the time of this announcement, no rivals of these vehicles come equipped with underbody CNG technology. At present only the Maruti Suzuki Victoris is equipped with underbody CNG tank technology in India.

Other details shared by Renault India highlight that the upcoming Kiger and Triber models will also come equipped with the biggest screen in the segment.

This move aligns with Renault India’s vision of offered and enhanced digital in-cabin experience. Another important update shared by the Renault states that the Triber will get a new powertrain. It can get the 1.0L turbo-petrol which is offered in the Kiger or it can also get the 1.2L turbo-petrol unit which will debut with the Bridger sub-4M SUV.
