Skoda Kodiaq RS SUV Sold Out in India in Under 6 Minutes
The Indian division of the Czech automaker Skoda has today announced that its Kodiaq RS SUV has been sold out in India in under six minutes. This is a new feat for Skoda in India as the previous car from Skoda to be sold out the country in a record time was the Octavia RS which was sold out in under 20 minutes.
Skoda commenced bookings for the Kodiaq RS in India yesterday; i.e. June 22nd 2026. Skoda is bringing the Kodiaq RS to the domestic market via the CBU route. The rapid sellout highlights the demand for limited-run performance models from Skoda, following a similar response received by the Octavia RS.
The global spec Kodiaq RS is powered by a 2.0L TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 261bhp and 400Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG and it also sports an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The Kodiaq RS can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in a claimed time of 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 231kmph.
Visually, the Kodiaq RS differentiates itself from the regular model through revised front and rear bumpers, gloss-black exterior elements, larger 20-inch alloy wheels and a twin-exhaust setup. Red brake calipers further distinguish the performance variant.
On the inside the global spec Kodiaq RS features an all-black cabin theme with red contrast stitching and RS-specific detailing. It gets sport seats with integrated headrests and RS badging while retaining the 5+2 seating configuration. Feature highlights include a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting and connected car technology.
The Kodiaq RS is expected to be priced at around Rs 55 lakh, positioning it above the standard Kodiaq range, which is currently priced between Rs 36.99 lakh and Rs 46.99 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).
Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said, “The RS has stood as a global icon for over half a century, with a passionate following in India for more than two decades. With the ‘Surrender’ campaign, we brought to customers a unique combination of performance and versatility in the Kodiaq RS. We are delighted—though not surprised—to see customers truly ‘surrender’ to its motorsport heritage, 4x4 capability, 7-seat luxury, and its standing as the quickest Škoda in India.”
