Suzuki has showcased the Fronx Flex-Fuel at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, currently underway in Tokyo, Japan. This event is scheduled to take place from October 29th to November 9th. This model is part of Suzuki’s display focused on alternative fuel technologies, which also includes Hydrogen, electric and biogas-powered vehicles developed for clean mobility solutions.

Suzuki Fronx Flex-Fuel
The Suzuki Fronx Flex-Fuel is powered by a reworked 1.2L petrol engine capable of operating on ethanol blends ranging from E20 to E85. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx currently on sale in India supports E20 ethanol blended petrol but this flex-fuel version is capable of running on petrol mixed with ethanol between 20 and 85 percent.
For operation on high ethanol content, the Fronx Flex-Fuel features ethanol-resistant components such as modified fuel lines, tank, injectors, and fuel pump. It also includes a dedicated flex-fuel ECU and sensors that detect ethanol concentration and adjust ignition timing, air-fuel ratio, and idle speed accordingly.
In terms of design, the showcased Fronx Flex-Fuel retains the styling of the standard model with the addition of “Flex Fuel” badging on the bonnet, fenders and doors. The model displayed continues with the same grille, connected LED tail lamps, and alloy wheels as seen on the standard Fronx.

Since Suzuki manufactures the Fronx in India for both domestic and export markets, the flex-fuel version is also expected to be produced in India. With India’s increasing focus on clean mobility and alternate fuels, this car could also serve as a platform for the development of powertrains for other models to support higher ethanol blends up to E85.
