Tata Intra EV Pickup: All You Need to Know

According to the automaker the Intra EV Pickup has been developed with a focus on carrying capacity and operational efficiency. It boasts a payload capacity of 1,750 kg and has a cargo deck measuring up to 10 feet 2 inches in length. The vehicle offers 23 percent gradeability, enabling it to tackle inclines and challenging operating conditions while carrying cargo.

Powering the pickup is a 72 kW electric motor that produces 230Nm of peak torque. The Intra EV Pickup is equipped with a 28.2 kWh battery pack that carries an IP67 rating for protection against dust and water. It returns a claimed range of up to 211 km on a single charge.

The Intra EV Pickup supports DC fast charging, using which it can charge from 10 to 80 percent in a claimed time of 55 minutes. It also features three levels of regenerative braking, which help recover energy during deceleration and feed it back into the battery. This can contribute to improved driving range, particularly during city operations with frequent stop-and-go traffic.

The Tata Intra EV Pickup comes equipped with an Electronic Braking System that is designed to improve braking performance and vehicle stability. It also gets integrated Tata Motors’ Fleet Edge connected vehicle technology offering features like real-time vehicle tracking, vehicle health monitoring and predictive maintenance alerts.

For driver convenience, the Intra EV Pickup features a walkthrough cabin layout and Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS). Tata Motors also claims that this EV has been developed with car-like ergonomics to reduce driver fatigue during long working hours.
