Tata Motors Introduces Factory-Fitted AC And Power Upgrades Across Truck Lineup
Tata Motors has announced the introduction of factory-fitted air conditioning systems across its entire commercial truck portfolio. The upgrade applies to all cabin types—SFC, LPT, Ultra, Signa and Prima—and is also being offered for the first time in cowl models, which were earlier sold without this feature.
Dual-Mode AC, Performance Boost Introduced
The new AC units come with two operation modes: Eco and Heavy, allowing drivers to manage cooling based on usage needs. Alongside this change, Tata has increased the power output in select models, with heavy-duty trucks, tippers and prime movers now offering up to 320 hp.
Rajesh Kaul, Vice President and Business Head – Trucks, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said, “The introduction of air-conditioned cabins and cowls marks a significant step towards building a comfortable working environment for drivers, enabling higher productivity. In addition to complying with the regulatory requirements, we have leveraged this opportunity to deliver long-term value with a host of enhancements. These upgrades, shaped by extensive customer feedback, and backed by smart engineering, are designed to minimise impact on total cost of ownership, ensuring greater profitability for fleet owners."
Fuel Efficiency and Tech Features Added
Several new features focused on improving fuel economy have also been added. These include a duty-cycle-based idle auto-shut function, along with a voice alert system for real-time updates to the driver.
Support Infrastructure and Digital Fleet Tools
The company continues to support its trucks through a wide service network of more than 3,000 touchpoints under its Sampoorna Seva 2.0 program. This includes roadside assistance, service plans and spare parts access. Tata’s Fleet Edge connected platform is also being used to help fleet operators manage maintenance, monitor performance and reduce operating costs.
