Tata Osprey: Design and Exterior
The Tata Osprey gets a bold SUV design with several premium features. It comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, Bi-LED headlamps, LED DRLs and X-Graphic full LED taillights. The SUV also gets 16-inch alloy wheels, along with a muscular stance. The overall design remains similar to the Tata Nexon sold in India, although specifications and equipment can vary depending on the market.
Tata Osprey: Interior and Features
The SUV comes with fully automatic climate control and a cooled glove box, while the cabin has been designed to provide generous space for passengers. The feature list also includes a 26.03 cm digital instrument cluster, wireless charger and push-button start with passive entry. Other equipment includes cruise control, a touch-based control panel and both Type-A and Type-C USB charging ports.
Tata Osprey: Safety Features
Tata Motors highlighted the Nexon's safety credentials, with the original model becoming the first made-in-India car to achieve a five-star rating under Global NCAP. The South African-spec Osprey continues this safety focus with six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). It also gets front parking sensors, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.
A 360-degree HD surround-view system with a Blind View Monitor is also offered. Tata says the SUV's safety architecture is designed to provide confidence across different driving conditions.
Tata Osprey: Variants
The Tata Osprey will be available in four variants in South Africa – Tata Osprey Smart+ MT, Tata Osprey Smart+ DCA, Tata Osprey Creative DCA and Tata Osprey Creative+ PS DCA. The company has positioned the SUV as an important addition to its expanding passenger vehicle portfolio in the market.
The South African launch also marks the formal introduction of Tata Motors' new global, customer-facing brand identity, TATA.CARS.
The new identity brings Tata Motors' growing passenger vehicle range under a common global brand. The new brand promise is 'Nothing's Too Far', which Tata says represents its focus on making mobility more accessible and enabling customers to go beyond their usual boundaries.
