Toyota Land Cruiser Recalled in India: 969 Units Affected
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has issued a voluntary recall for 969 units of the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 in India. The announcement was made on 18 February 2026. The recall applies to vehicles manufactured from 4 September 2024 to 30 September 2025. The company stated that the recall is related to a possible issue in the Transmission Control Computer software, which manages transmission functions.
According to the company, "The subject vehicle is equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission that contain linear solenoids to control the shifting of gears. if solenoid failure occurs under certain driving conditions, the transmission control unit and the Engine ECU may not communicate the failure, resulting in the transmission over-revving in certain gears. This could result in damage to the transmission and a loss of motive power while driving at higher speeds. if damage occurs to the transmission housing, there is also the possibility for transmission fluid to leak form the housing."
Similar Action for Lexus LX
Toyota has also issued a recall addressing a similar concern in the Lexus LX, which uses the same 10-speed automatic transmission unit as the Land Cruiser 300.
Customer Support and Resolution
Toyota said that authorised dealer representatives will contact affected customers directly to carry out the necessary corrective action. Customers can also reach out to their nearest dealership or contact the company’s customer assistance centre for further information.
