TVS Orbiter VS TVS iQube Spec Comparison: What's Different?
The Indian electric scooter market is growing rapidly, with TVS launching the Orbiter as its entry-level electric vehicle. The Orbiter replaces the iQube's base variant, emphasizing practicality with features like a spacious seat and increased underseat storage. It introduces segment-first cruise control and essential connectivity options, while the iQube focuses on advanced tech features. The Orbiter's single battery offers a 158 km range at a starting price of Rs 99,000, making it accessible, unlike the pricier iQube variants. The Orbiter competes with other entry-level EVs in the market.
TVS Orbiter VS TVS iQube Spec Comparison: What's Different?
The electric scooter market in India is quickly expanding, and TVS has refreshed its portfolio with the new Orbiter, positioned as the company’s entry-level EV. The Orbiter takes the spot previously held by the iQube base variant, offering more practicality and a few segment-first features. But how does it actually compare with the well-established TVS iQube? Let’s break it down across design, features, performance, and pricing.
TVS Orbiter VS TVS iQube: Design
The TVS Orbiter carries a more functional design with a flat floorboard and a longer 845mm flat seat, making it suitable for riders who value comfort and space. Practicality extends to its 34-litre underseat storage, which is slightly more than the iQube’s 32 litres. The Orbiter also gets a high-mounted headlamp with DRL integration and a sleek rear LED strip. Riding on 14-inch wheels and offering 169mm ground clearance, it emphasizes everyday usability. On the other hand, the iQube leans more toward a premium, urban look with a sleeker finish. It runs on 12-inch wheels and keeps the storage slightly lower at 32 litres. Styling feels more upmarket compared to the Orbiter’s functional approach.
TVS Orbiter VS TVS iQube: Features
One of the biggest highlights of the Orbiter is its segment-first cruise control, a rare find in entry-level electric scooters. It also packs a USB charging port, automated hill assist, and a digital display with Bluetooth connectivity. Through the TVS app, riders can access live-tracking, towing alerts, anti-theft notifications, vehicle health checks, and nearby charging station info. In contrast, the iQube is feature-rich in a different way. It offers a 7-inch TFT touchscreen, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, document storage, and even crash/fall alerts. The iQube focuses on a tech-driven experience, while the Orbiter balances practicality with connected features.
TVS Orbiter VS TVS iQube: Battery and Range
The Orbiter comes with a single 3.1 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed 158 km range on one charge. This makes it an efficient choice in its segment, especially for daily commuting. In comparison, the iQube lineup is broader, with four battery options: 2.2 kWh, 3.1 kWh, 3.5 kWh and 5.3 kWh. The 3.5 kWh version offers 145 km of range, slightly less than the Orbiter despite being higher up in the lineup. The range-topping 5.3 kWh variant pushes the iQube into a different performance and pricing category.
TVS Orbiter VS TVS iQube: Price and Variants
The TVS Orbiter has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 99,000 (ex-showroom), making it the most accessible EV in the brand’s portfolio. On the contrary, the iQube, depending on the chosen battery pack, starts higher. The 3.5 kWh variant is priced around Rs 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom), while the larger 5.3 kWh pack takes it further up.
TVS Orbiter VS TVS iQube: Colours and Rivals
The Orbiter is offered in six colours: Stratos Blue, Neon Sunburst, Stellar Silver, Lunar Grey, Martian Copper and Cosmic Titanium. It goes up against entry-level EVs such as the Honda Activa-E, Bajaj Chetak, Suzuki e-Access, Ola S1 Air and Ather Rizta. The iQube comes in multiple monotone and dual-tone shades depending on the variant. Its rivals sit slightly higher in the EV spectrum, including the Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X and Hero Vida V2.
