KTM appears to be getting closer to introducing an updated version of the 790 Adventure. The upcoming adventure motorcycle has once again been spotted testing overseas, with the latest spy shots revealing several styling changes. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the new test mule looks slimmer, sharper and more modern than the current model, hinting at an evolved design for the next version.
Key Highlights:
- Upcoming KTM 790 Adventure spotted testing overseas with noticeable design updates.
- New spy shots reveal a slimmer body and a more compact LED headlight setup.
- Likely to retain the 799cc parallel-twin engine producing 93 bhp and 87 Nm.
- Motorcycle appears close to production, although KTM has not confirmed a launch timeline.
Slimmer Bodywork and New Front-End Design
The biggest visual change on the test bike is its redesigned front section. It features a more compact headlight assembly with an LED projector unit accompanied by sleek DRLs. Compared to the existing KTM 790 Adventure, the new setup gives the motorcycle a cleaner and more contemporary appearance.
The fuel tank and surrounding body panels also appear noticeably slimmer than before. This not only makes the motorcycle look lighter but also gives it a sportier stance. However, since the bike is still undergoing testing, KTM could introduce further styling tweaks before the production model is officially unveiled.
Engine Likely to Remain Unchanged
Mechanically, the updated KTM 790 Adventure is expected to continue with the familiar 799cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. The motor currently delivers 93 bhp of maximum power and 87 Nm of peak torque, and no major mechanical revisions are expected at this stage.
The test mule also features WP brake callipers, similar to several other KTM prototypes seen testing recently.
Features Expected to Continue
Inside the cockpit, the motorcycle appears to retain the existing 5-inch TFT instrument console. The display is expected to continue offering smartphone connectivity, including turn-by-turn navigation as well as call and SMS notifications.Apart from these, KTM could also carry forward its rider-focused electronic aids, although official details are yet to be announced.
Launch Timeline Still Under Wraps
KTM has not revealed when the updated 790 Adventure will make its global debut. However, the latest spy shots suggest the motorcycle is in an advanced stage of development and appears close to production. More details are expected to emerge in the coming months as testing continues.
