VinFast Signs MoU With Tamil Nadu Government to Expand Its Manufacturing Facility, Targets Electric Bus, Two-Wheeler Production

VinFast plans to introduce a range of electric buses in India, with models ranging from 6-metre to 12-metre lengths. These buses are designed to have a driving range of up to 260 km and utilize a 281 kWh battery. They are already available in Vietnam and have recently launched in Europe, demonstrating VinFast's commitment to expanding its electric vehicle offerings in India.

VinFast's electric two-wheeler portfolio is set to include models with ranges between 100 km and 160 km, focusing primarily on scooters. This contrasts with their electric car offerings, which are represented by models like the VF 6 and VF 7, aimed at the premium segment with greater range and capacity. The company is assessing various models to meet local market demands for two-wheelers.

VinFast's expansion in Tamil Nadu is anticipated to create approximately 3,000 to 3,500 direct jobs at the assembly plant, along with thousands of indirect jobs through the supply chain ecosystem. This significant job creation is expected to boost socio-economic development in the region, supporting local communities and the economy.

VinFast's manufacturing facilities, including the one in Tamil Nadu, feature advanced automation and cutting-edge technologies.
