Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Launched in India at Rs 46.99 Lakh: Check Powertrain, Features, Safety and More

Volkswagen India has today launched its new flagship SUV, Tayron R-Line in the Indian market. The Volkswagen Tayron R-Line has been launched in India with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 46.99 lakh. The Tayron R-Line is locally assembled in India and is offered in a single, fully equipped variant. The Tayron R-Line comes laden with safety, utility and comfort features. The bookings for the Tayron R-Line were opened ahead of the launch with a booking amount of Rs 51,000 across authorised Volkswagen dealerships and the brand’s official digital platforms.

The Tayron R-Lines is a three-row mid-size SUV which measures measures 4,792mm in length, 1,866mm in width, 1,665mm in height and has a wheelbase spanning 2,789mm. In terms of exterior design the Tayron R-Line features IQ Lights with HD Matrix headlamps, R-Line specific exterior elements, 19-inch alloy wheels, and illuminated Volkswagen logos at the front and rear. In India, the Tayron R-Line is available in seven exterior colours: Dolphin Grey Metallic, Oyster Silver Metallic, Ultraviolet Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, and Oryx White with a mother-of-pearl effect.

On the inside, Volkswagen has equipped the Tayron R-Line with a panoramic sunroof, a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and an augmented reality head-up display. The front seats are electrically adjustable and offer memory function, front seats are also ventilated with heating and cooling. It also gets massage seats with 8-modes, lumbar support, second-row seats with sliding and 15 degree recline function, 30 colour ambient lighting with multiple colour options is also part of the package. Other key features include - panoramic sunroof, 3-zone climate control, HUD with augmented reality (AR), 700W 11 speaker Harman Kardon Sound System and more.

The Tayron R-Line is powered by a 2.0L TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 201.20bhp and 320Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. Volkswagen claims a 0 to 100kmph acceleration time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 224kmph.

Volkswagen India has introduced the Tayron R-Line in the Indian market laden with active and passive safety features. It comes equipped with 23 key features and includes 14 Level 2 ADAS. Other key safety equipment includes - 9-airbags, electronic stability control, hill ascent and descent functions, and selectable driver profiles.
