Ducati Recalls 2025 Panigale V4 Models Over Rear Brake Issue

Ducati North America has issued a voluntary recall for the 2025 Panigale V4 S and Standard models due to a potential defect in the rear brake system. Under this recall, 592 units were reported as affected that were manufactured between September 6, 2024 and December 19, 2024.
According to the report filed by Ducati to NHTSA, the rear brake hose between the ABS control unit and rear brake caliper installed on the affected motorcycles may be susceptible to heat damage, which may cause a sudden loss of rear brake function. No accidents, injuries, or property damage related to this defect have been reported.
Early damage to the hose may be visually observed, and the rider may notice a loss of rear brake performance during the pre-ride check, as recommended in the Owner’s Manual. If the issue is not detected, however, a hose failure and resulting loss of brake fluid could occur suddenly and without warning, Ducati said in the report.

Recall and Remedy Plan

To deal with the issue Ducati North America will notify dealers and affected owners, instructing them to install an updated thermal shield free of charge. The manufacturer implemented this fix in the production line starting January 10, 2025. Dealers will be informed by January 31, 2025, while customer notifications are expected between February 18 and February 28, 2025.
