BMW Recalls 2025 X3 xDrive 30 SUVs Over Faulty Front Brake Discs

BMW of North America has announced a voluntary safety recall for 26 units of the 2025 BMW X3 xDrive 30 that were manufactured on February 19, 2025 due to concerns over damaged front brake discs that may have been compromised during the supply chain transport process.
According to the report filed by BMW to NHTSA, This safety recall involves the front brake discs, which may have been damaged during the supply chain transport process. Damage, in the form of heavy marks or cuts to the disc surface, was present. If this happened then, during hard braking, further damage could occur, which could affect front brake performance.
The defect was first noticed on February 20, 2025, during a routine quality check at a BMW assembly plant. A second similar issue was identified in March at a BMW dealership. Further investigation traced the problem to a specific batch of brake discs supplied by ZF Foxconn Chassis Modules, located in Gray Court, South Carolina. No manufacturing defects were found at the supplier level, but damage is believed to have occurred during transportation.
To deal with the issue BMW will replace both the front brake discs and brake pads free of charge. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed on June 6, 2025, while dealer notifications began on April 16, 2025.
